Can View Website but cant write

I recently just set up a site through IIS 7.0 on an amazon aws ec2. I can view the website through a browser using my domain and log into the site using the default admin, but when I try to do any editing through the website like change the password or add a new member I get a 500 internal error. Any ideas?

Sounds like the permissions are not set to allow writing to me.

I set all the site folders to full control read\write\modify and literally opened every port on the ip and still cant edit

Solved the issue... it was a user permission issue in the folders.
